Holland Davis is a tool that God uses every day in leading people to being admonished in Worship.  Many people sing Worship today.  But few have the gift of leading people into Worship.

I have been playing the guitar from the age of fifteen years old.  I have been doing Ministry in performing Gospel concerts since 1967.  I have heard thousands of bands. Some very good.  Many not so good.  It’s sad when Worship pastors have no musical background. But make an attempt to lead congregations in Worship.  I applaud their efforts.  Those who play music. But cannot read music. Nor understand the history of music.  Or even attempting to master an instrument.  Arrange, Produce and understand the mathematic of music.

The problem is; because of the lack of education in music.  Many attempts fail.  Worship leaders are sincere. But the lack of education in Communication. Rhetorical theory. Persuasion. Knowing the Cannons of communication are not present in attempts to connect with an audience.  Many have no eye contact with their listeners.  It’s time to close their eyes and just sing in a trance.  Many Worship leaders still sing songs in the same key.  The same rhythm.  With an attempt to sing for our Lord.  These Musician’s are successful only to those who know nothing about music.

There are still people who do have a clue about music, are tortured in humbling themselves to listen what is presented to them.  And kind to not say a word of criticism.

Let me say up front – Holland Davis is a friend. I’ve always appreciated his heart for ministry and his ability to lead worship. He’s a gifted and talented man who seeks God in all he does.

It was thrilling to receive a copy of his book and I read it quickly. It kept my attention and made me think.
